Your aches and pains have met their match- April is the stress chaser and pain eraser.
About April’s Qualifications
I began my journey to become a healer in 2000 when I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland and took the Reiki I and II atunements. After returning to the states, I graduated from the CenterPoint school of Massage and Shiatsu in 2002. Immediately afterwards I started to practice at the CenterPoint professional clinic. Since then I have been a Shiatsu clinic supervisor as well as a lead techniques instructor at the school. Becoming a Shiatsu instructor allowed me to develop my technique and dive deeper into the nuances of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2004 I completed the Swedish/Integrative courses at CenterPoint. In 2006 I completed Pre-Natal Massage certification. I completed a running injuries workshop with Jackson Petersburg and used that knowledge to volunteer in the massage tent at the Twin Cities Marathon and help help athletes with their training. Recently, I have been doing extra study in ethics and boundaries. It's extremely important to me to create a safe environment for clients to be able to totally relax.
I am insured, a member of the AMTA, and have completed the national exam for bodyworkers (NCTMB), the highest level of professional achievement for a massage therapist.
More about April

The twin cities have been my home every since I moved from Iowa City, IA to St. Paul in 1994 to attend Macalester College to major in Dramatic Arts and Dance. I now live in Minneapolis with my husband John, 6 year old Sylvia, 3 year old Willa and Django, the cat. When I am not doing massage or keeping my kids out of harms way I enjoy bicycling, camping, yoga, reading(19th century literature, paranormal romances, teen novels, current events magazines), and cooking. This summer I have been enjoying gardening, birding and cross stitch.
Over the last eight years of practicing I have worked through two pregnancies and subsequent births of two beautiful little girls (The eldest who is already apprenticing in the healing arts). Motherhood invoked an interest in Pre and Post-Natal Massage. Even now I balances dedication to my children with working in my practice. Performing bodywork actually energizes and inspires my domestic life.
Through-out my life I have always had a fondness for physical exercise. In high school I played volleyball; in college I lifted weights and danced, after college I commuted everywhere by bicycle and seriously practiced Yoga. Now, family bicycle rides, long walks and home yoga suffice. I have always loved working with athletes of all variety. The challenge of figuring out which muscles are affected by a given activity keeps me engaged.
And no, my hands don't get tired.
Thanks for taking an interest in my story. I know I will take an interest in yours when you come in for your appointment.
